Who we are.
To Be 911, LLC. has been founded to help volunteer emergency agencies recruit more people through community awareness campaigns. A remarkable number of residents don't realize that all or part of their emergency services are provided by volunteers. And of the people who are aware, they see that emergencies get handled and assume that the agencies have all the people they need.
The reality is that volunteer emergency agencies need more people. Currently emergencies are getting responded to, but at a cost to the volunteers. When a department is under staffed the burden increases on the remaining volunteers to keep the responses occuring. But how long can this continue before you call 911 and hear, "Thank you for calling 911, your call is important to us. All of our volunteer responders are busy now. Your emergency will be handled in the order it was received. Your expected wait will be less than 45 minutes." When your house is on fire or being broken in to, or you are having a heart attack, that's not going to be good enough for you. Don't make it be good enough for someone else, VOLUNTEER.

I have been a volunteer firefighter since 2001 and have served on three separate fire departments. I have also been a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) since 2004, volunteering on a transporting ambulance service (which is also the fire department I am on). Additionally, I was an on-call deputy for my county; this was a paid, part-time position.
As you can see, I have done it all and I am still doing some of it. So I can answer any questions you may have about voluntary emergency services.
